Claudia Berman
I create antiquity inspired contemporary jewelry using classical metalsmithing techniques of fabrication and casting in sterling silver and high karat gold, with luscious stones and gems. Textures are a highlight of my work, inspired by the rough and natural designs in nature and unearthed treasures from long ago. I play with mixed metals and patinas to build unique colors, reminiscent of sunlight, shadows, erosion, and oxidation. Often my pieces are delicate in design and simple in final presentation.
I enjoy clean lines and deliberate details without unnecessary distractions. Each item is created with structural strength, but with feminine movement.
